Summer Scouts: Furthest Reach

Summer-Scouts-furthest-reach-review
This time last week I was sitting in the bathroom with the heater on. Today? I can’t get cool enough. While the weather in LA has me going back and forth, I’m finding some sanity in Summer Scouts’ Furthest Reach. If pop rock and indie had a baby, this would be the result. It’s the perfect addition to your collection if you find yourself excited for both Warped Tour and Coachella, and never feel you have to pick a side when it comes to either scene.

The energy found within this record are set to high most of the time. “April” sets the tone, “Carry On” is like an indie twist to an All Time Low track, “Flares” keeps you moving and “Diamond Days” sets the bar as the best of the bunch. What I didn’t care for was when things were slowed down a bit. Like in “Fight Off All the Years.” While I wasn’t a fan, I could immediately hear a buffet of YouTube hopefuls trying to tackle this one for their cover collection.

With the weather warming up, it’s time to come out of your caves and other dwellings and attach yourself to some new music. I’d suggest tossing Summer Scouts into your life if you’re a fan of All Time Low and The Maine. With that, you can check out Furthest Reach, out May 20. Before they drop the record though – you can check them out on tour starting this week. See below for the dates!
