Top 10 Thursday: BFF Songs

top-10-thursday-bff-listMy best friend has been so since like the 5th grade. She knows 99.95% about me and still somehow likes me. That can’t be said of a lot of people. I tend to be too much for some and not enough for others. I’m forever mentally 12 and she’ll call me out on it, and I let her because she’s one of the only people whose opinion actually matters to me. So this week I decided to just toss out the top 10 songs that remind me of her. Plus, I also really miss her – she’s been up the coast for what seems like forever now but she’s out in the world making changes for the better…one of us has to, right?

10. Pitbull & Kesha “Timber”

For some reason she loves the naked mole rat that is Pitbull and has for far too long.

9. Ocarina of Time

Bitch loves her video games.

8. The Used “Blue and Yellow”

It’s about the band’s friendship, so we went and she got blue tattooed and I got yellow.

7. Fiona Apple “Criminal”

This isn’t her favorite song of hers but this is one of the ladies she loves most. No, I’m not putting the banshee that is Bjork.

6. Jack’s Mannequin “The Mixed Tape”

I’ve never learned a record without owning it first but the year this came out it’s all we listened to in her car and yup…I knew every word before I purchased it for myself.

5. Red Hot Chili Peppers “Snow (Hey Oh)”

I’d never been further than Santa Barbara until we took a road trip up to NorCal to see Red Hot Chili Peppers. We did all the tourist shit and saw some good shows…Minus Mars Volta.

4. Backstreet Boys “All I Have to Give”

This was legit the main reason we started being bffls. We would spend hours on the phone watching the VHS together and talking about the boys.

3. New Found Glory “Ballad for the Lost Romantics”

I always say I have good taste in music because of her.

2. The Aristocats “Everybody Wants to be a Cat”

Bitch LOVES cats.

1. Incubus “The Warmth”

You can’t think of my BFF and not think of this band. So many memories wrapped up in these guys…fucking spider bites. Totally not as scary as it sounds.
